Dining at Disney
Alright, we love Disney. Most people do, I think. Disney is great at providing family friendly entertainment at outlandish prices. The same can be said for the eating establishments associated with Disney theme parks. Whether eating inside a park, at a resort or at Downtown Disney, be prepared to fork over a boatload of cash. Is the food worth the amazingly high prices? No. Is the experience worth the over-the-top $$$? In my opinion, yes.
Case in point: Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex at Downtown Disney in Orlando, FL. Wonderful atmosphere, OK food. A hamburger for $15? You betcha! Both offer the same menus (just different names) and basically the same prices. You just can't go to McDonald's or BK and get the same fun, exciting enviroment. Ok, the hamburgers are 100 times better than either of those fast food places, just not worth $15.
Of course if you are going to go to Disney, you want the entire experience and that includes dining. Just deal with it. Character dining in the theme parks and resorts is a must-do for families with children. Especially if it is a first visit. Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace offer large buffet style meals with awesome meet and greet opportunities with some of you and your kids favorite characters. Just be prepared to shell out at least $120. For breakfast! HAHA! Gotta love Disney!
